Galactosemia is a rare, genetic metabolic disorder that inhibits the body’s ability to break down lactose and galactose.
In the US, 1 in 60,000 births each year are diagnosed with Galactosemia.
Side effects include kidney failure, liver failure, cataracts, brain damage, ovarian failure, speech disorders, learning disabilities and neurological disorders.
The Galactosemia Foundation is a national, non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to provide information, support, and networking opportunities to families affected by galactosemia like ours.

OUR Children, Jake Saylor 12, and Adrienne Rodgers 15, both have Galactosemia and are counting on you for your support. In 2018, this fundraising event raised over $30,000 for research and to date over $300,000 has been raised! Fundraisers like this ensure that research will continue. Please become involved and help create a hopeful future for those affected with Galactosemia.
